After studying violin, Bettina Ranch devoted herself exclusively to singing. She performs both in concert as well as in opera productions and works regularly with such renewed ensembles as the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln, Leipziger Kammerorchester, Bamberger Symphoniker, Bochumer Symphoniker, Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin and Schleswig-Holstein Festivalorchester.

In 2007 she made her debut at Grand Theatre Luxembourg and Berliner Staatsoper, performing Pascal Dusapin’s Medea. The production of the choreographer Sasha Waltz, in cooperation with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and musically directed by Marcus Creed, was staged until 2010 in Paris, Lille, Brussels, at Melbourne International Arts Festival and Holland Festival in Amsterdam.

Under the baton of Helmuth Rilling, Ms. Ranch performed the B-minor Mass with the International Bachakademie at Bachwoche Ansbach and Mendelssohn’s Paulus with the Orquesta Sinfonica y Coro de RTVE in Madrid and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano G. Verdi in Milan. Further in the last seasons she performed Mozart's Coronation Mass with Hamburg Philharmonic under Simone Young, a Mozart-Rossini Gala concert with the Bremen Philharmonic under Markus Poschner, Haydn's Il Ritorno di Tobia with Capella Cracoviensis, conducted by Paul Goodwin, a revival of Handel’s Alcina at Händelfestspiele Halle, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater with Hartmut Haenchen and Haydn-Orchester Bozen during several concerts in Italy and Mozart’s oratorio Betulia Liberata (as Guiditta) at Winteroper Potsdam with Kammerakademie Potsdam under Antonello Manacorda, which was followed by an immediate reinvitation for the next season in Scarlatti’s opera Cain und Abel, Haydn’s Messiah with the Bremer Philarmoniker, Franz Schimdt’s Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln with Simone Young and Hamburger Philarmoniker and Verdi’s Requiem with Bergische Symphoniker.

During 2010/11 season she was engaged as Lucilla in Christoph Graupner’s baroque opera Berenice and Lucilla at Darmstädter Residenzfestspiele, conducted by Wolfgang Seeliger and staged by Sigrid T´Hooft. Afterwards she performed the title role in Handel's Ariodante with the ensemble “così facciamo”, under the baton of Hans Huyssen and stage direction of Kobie van Rensburg, touring in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
In the 2011/12 season, Ms. Ranch was singing the title role in Handel’s Giulio Cesare and the Third Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Staatsoper Hamburg, as well as two different roles in Valtinoni’s The Snow Queen at Komische Oper Berlin. She gave her Wagnerian debut at Aalto-Theater Essen as Schwertleite in Die Walküre, conducted by Stefan Soltesz, and was concluding the season with performing the part of Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina at Händelfestspiele Halle (conducted by Bernhard Forck and staged by Andrej Woron).
During 2012/13 season she appeared as Flosshilde in Wagner’s Rheingold at Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam under the baton of Hartmut Haenchen, as Third Lady in The Magic Flute at Staatsoper Hamburg, and as Schwertleite Die Walküre, conducted by Simone Young.
In the 2013/14 season she tuned at the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam singing Fosshilde first in Das Rheingold and then again in Götterdämmerung, the third lady of The Magic Flute in Sardinia at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. She was also guest at the Salzburg Festival and in the philharmonic in Munich with the Mattäus-Passion with the Bach Collegium Munich under Hansjörg Albrecht baton.

Further prospective engagements are: Messiah at Dresdner Philharmonie under Michael Sanderling, Bach cantatas with Rinaldo Alessandrini and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Götterdämmerung/ Waltraute with Bremer Philharmoniker under Markus Poschner, the third lady of The Magic Flute at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the third maid in Zemlinsky’s The Dwarf and many roles at the Aalto Musiktheater in Essen for the next season as Carmen / Carmen, Adalgisa / Norma, Maddalena / Rigoletto and others.
